Buzzingo - your daily buzz dosage

Sunday, December 25, 2005

Buzzingo.com is an automatic mash-up between the Yahoo Buzz Index and Google's "I'm Feeling lucky" concept.

The site provides news and information on quickly gaining search terms in music, movies, sports, actors, games, tv, and general web searches. For instance, the "Hot Sports" page will display news and information on today's most searched sports terms - and is updated hourly.

I wrote it using Ruby On Rails using Yahoo! Search API.

If you wish to stay tuned-in for new stuff - subscribe to the buzzingo blog.
Upcoming features might include: adult filter (current results are NOT filtered), more buzz categories, and mabye some new buzz sources: Google, RawSugar, Delicious, Flickr.

email me at guytavor _at_ buzzingo.com with rants, raves, suggestions, donations, job offers or termination notices. Everything goes.

Performancing, Flock, and Google's web browser

Thursday, December 22, 2005

Performancing.com is a Firefox1.5 blogging plug-in. It connects to your blogger.com, Wordpress or Moveable-Type blog, and let's you easily post and manage your blog. Itsbetter and far more stable than flock's publishing tool. Thisstrengthen my view that flock are goingto have tough time competing with other browsers: explorer - due ofMicrosoft's firepower, and Firefox - due to its broad developer support.

Better provide a platform than a "do it all tool". no?

Having said that, recent market events has convinced me that Google have to ship its own web browser.Having a browser is a key enabler for their great technologies. Oncethey get real OS based access to your box, they will organize everyaspect of your data.

but what about plain old literature?

Wednesday, December 14, 2005

flickr & buzznet do photo sharing. Delicious, rawsugar do bookmark sharing, youtube do video sharing, everybody is doing tagging.

But what aoubt plain old literature? short stories, poems, scripts, novels, plays?

I have just started a fun pet project called bibli.ca - publish and share your text creations. Its a project I do for fun, not for money. I hope it will be a place where people who love plain old reading and writing could meet others like them, read creations others have written, and share their own.

Its a complete web2.0 application, with ajax eye candies and all the rest. I think it is fun to use.

Maybe, just maybe, someday - if people find value in this project, a book will be pulished, titled: "bibli.ca – the best creations from the people of the internet”. HA!

yes, its flickr for text. the text flickr.

Yahoo buys Del.icio.us

Sunday, December 11, 2005

Joshua Schachter's Del.icio.us was bought by Yahoo!.

Congratulations Joshua, for a job well done. To tell you the truth, I envy you for the fact that you will now have the chance to leverage Yahoo's visibility to create a new an exciting web tool. It would probably also uber-rock to work with the Flickr guys. I wish you all the best.
In parallel, I'll keep doing my best to see RawSugar use its unique technology and market insight to team up with prominent players to deliver a better solution for the general Internet population ;)

May all of us have fun in the process!
